Paffrath 100 | A Century of Love; Care, Craft, and Connection
A Century of Love; Care, Craft, and Connection
February’s centennial theme is LOVE, and at Paffrath & Son Jewelers, love isn’t always just about romance. It’s the thread that runs through every chapter of the store’s history. There is a love for craft, a love for community, a love for family, and a love for the moments that matter. Just as it’s been for a century.
A Foundation Built on Care
When Rudy opened the doors in 1926, he opened with a belief that every customer deserved honesty, quality, and personal attention. Rudy’s reputation for doing things the right way, from his work as the Burlington Railroad’s official watch inspector to his growing expertise in fine jewelry, was rooted in love.
That commitment to care became the heart of the business. Customers were neighbors, friends, and families celebrating milestones from one generation to another.
A Century of Love
Since 1926, Paffrath & Son Jewelers has been more than a jewelry store. It has been a trusted partner through generations of families in West Central Minnesota.
From Rudy’s first diamond rings to Jeff’s custom creations, the heart of the business has never changed; take care of your customers, your team, and honor the moments that matter.
Love in Life’s Milestones
For a century, Paffrath & Son Jewelers has been part of the moments people treasure most:
- Engagements
- Weddings
- Anniversaries
- Holidays
- Birthdays
- Heirloom restorations
- Special Moments
Every ring, necklace, bracelet, and keepsake carries a story. The privilege of being trusted with those stories is something Paffrath and Son Jewelers has never taken lightly.
Craftsmanship as an Act of Love
Paffrath and Son Jewelers has treated craftsmanship as a form of love. Lowell Paffrath, whose resilience shaped much of the store’s evolution, believed that jewelry should be both beautiful and meaningful. His innovations, from creating the region’s first Diamond Room to introducing in‑store repairs and loose diamonds, came from a desire to give customers the very best.
That same spirit lives on today through Jeff Paffrath’s work as an artisan goldsmith. Every custom design, every restoration, every repair reflects a deep respect for the stories behind each piece. It is love expressed through skill, patience, creativity, care, and artistry.
Family Values That Endure
The Paffrath story is a family story. Each generation has carried forward the values Rudy and Katherine established: integrity, service, and genuine connection. Lowell and Shirlee strengthened community ties and innovated. Todd and Diane continued that tradition, raising their family in the area and helping guide the store through new eras of growth. Today, Jeff and his wife, Marni, honor that legacy while shaping the future of the business. Treating every customer like family is a form of love that has defined the store for generations.
